Dear Community Leader,

We would like to share with you a resource guide created by our friends at the Community Design Resource Center for community members in need of information and assistance during the ongoing situation with the COVID-19 virus. Please follow the link to retrieve the latest version of the guide and feel free to share with your neighbors and networks in Magnolia Park, Harrisburg, Smith Addition, and Manchester: https://www.cdrchouston.org/resources.

In addition, we also need your help spreading the word about Census 2020. In Magnolia Park-Manchester between 13 and 19% of households have returned their Census forms as of today. Filling out the form is critical for your neighborhood to be accurately represented in voting districts and for the community to receive funding for schools, healthcare, road improvements, and more. Remember that the Census is taken only once every ten years so now is the time to make an impact on your community’s future. We ask that you share the attached flyers with your networks and social media to help reach a greater audience!

We would also like to hear from you regarding how your community is coping with the current situation. For example, are there specific resource needs that you have identified based on your conversations with other community members? We do not anticipate holding any additional meetings, virtual or in person, until at least May. Does that timeline make sense for the community? We appreciate any feedback you can offer.

Please be safe!

Sincerely,

David Welch
